Marvel’s Falcon & Winter Soldier series is looking to add more MCU alums to its crew. Most particularly those from the Captain America film series.
It is being reported that Daniel Brühl and Emily VanCamp are currently in talks to reprise their roles from the MCU for the upcoming Disney+ series starring Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie. Possibly joining the actors as the series’ director is Kari Skogland, who is known for work on shows such as Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale.
The addition of these two actors should give the show even more hype given their places in the MCU history. For those needing a refresher, Brühl appeared as the “villain” Zemo in Captain America: Civil War. Zemo started the chain of events that ultimately led to the disbanding of the Avengers, thanks to his part in revealing who truly was behind the murders of Howard and Maria Stark.
As for VanCamp, she first made her debut in the critically acclaimed Captain America: The Winter Soldier as Agent 13, otherwise known as Sharon Carter. She was also later to be revealed as the great-niece of Captain America’s one true love Peggy Carter. Sharon was instrumental during the events in TWS as she was one of the many SHIELD agents who stood alongside Cap and fought against the Hydra takeover.
This show is already going to be one to watch as Stan and Mackie’s chemistry is pretty amazing. Personally hoping for some buddy-cop vibes with a series twist from them. This series is one of a few being developed for Disney+, including one starring Tom Hiddleston Loki, WandaVision, starring Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen, and a series centering on Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye.
Currently, there is no release date at this time for Falcon & Winter Soldier. It is anticipated to be soon as Disney+ is set to be launched on November 12.
