After what seems like years of waiting (in reality, it’s only been one and a half years), Black Mirror is poised to make its way back onto the small screen once more.

It was announced on Wednesday morning that the hit anthology drama with a sci-fi twist will be returning much sooner than you think. The premiere date is actually just right around the corner as season 5 will be premiering on Netflix this summer on Wednesday, June 5. What a wonderful way to kick off the summer for sure!

Also revealed on Wednesday along with the premiere date was the official cast list. It had been relatively unknown exactly who was participating in the upcoming season for the most part. Netflix officially confirmed that singer Miley Cyrus is making her return to TV for this upcoming season (she plays a pop singer in the show). Also confirmed by the streaming giant as part of season 5’s cast are Anthony Mackie, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Topher Grace, Damson Idris, Andrew Scott, Nicole Beharie, Pom Klementieff, Angourie Rice, Madison Davenport, and Ludi Lin.

Netflix shared the episode count for this new season. It appears the hit series is going back to its earlier roots as it will only feature 3 episodes this go-round. The special one-off episode Bandersnatch was originally slated to be a part of this season but instead was given a Christmas viewing slot.

Based on the trailer, we are going to be in for one very wild and epic ride as technology becomes a thing to definitely fear!
