The Latest Lion King Trailer Hits Us All In The Feels

The Lion King is one of three live-action remakes of classic animated Disney films to be released in 2019.

Audiences and critics were split on Tim Burton’s Dumbo, but we have high hopes for Aladdin and The Lion KingAladdin will hit screens in May. Based on the trailers, we are pretty excited for the Guy Ritchie directed movie.

The Lion King, which is considered the opus of the Disney Renaissance of the 90s, is the one most fans are excited for. With an amazingly star-studded ensemble, including Donald Glover as an adult Simba and Beyonce as an adult Nala, the photo-realistic film comes from Jon Favreau, who directed the much praised remake of The Jungle Book.

The new trailer shows us better looks at the majority of the characters in the film. We also get to hear James Earl Jones reprise his role as Mufasa from the 1994 animated film. It’s hitting us right in the feels. Like right in the feels. Plus we get some serious menace from Scar (Chiwetel Ejiofor).

Not too mention, we get Timon (Billy Eichner) and Pumba (Seth Rogen) who are singing (what else?) “The Lion Sleeps Tonight”.

Check out the trailer below.

The Lion King will be released on July 19th.
