Lucifer is really embracing its second coming.
About a year ago, Fox cancelled the cult favorite supernatural procedural dramedy based loosely on the DC Comics series of the same name. Netflix, however, saw fan response and gave the series an eleventh hour save to the delight of fans by renewing it for a ten episode fourth season.
Details have been largely kept under wrap, but one thing fans do know is that Lucifer’s (Tom Ellis) ex, Eve (Inbar Lavi), will return into the Devil’s life. It seems to come just as our favorite Devil is feeling pretty vulnerable. At the end of season three, Chloe (Lauren German) saw Lucifer’s “Devil face” after he killed Cain (Tom Welling) and…she does not seem to be handling it well.
The first trailer for the season showcases it in a big way. Lucifer asks Chloe if she can accept him as he is, and she, tearfully, replies that she doesn’t know. Though there are some Deckerstar moments, a touch as Lucifer plays the piano, that signals maybe things won’t be too frosty for long.
As for Eve? Personally, we gotta say that we’re love the original sinner herself. Lavi seems to be an excellent addition to the cast. It also looks like we’ll be seeing Lucifer go more full on Devil this season as well. (Which, hey, use that Netflix budget, show.)
Check out the trailer below.
Lucifer season four hits Netflix on May 8th.
