Cardi B., Lili Reinhart (Riverdale), Keke Palmer (Scream Queens), and Julia Stiles (Riviera) have joined the cast of the stripper pic, Hustlers. Previously, it was announced that Constance Wu and Jennifer Lopez had joined the project.
The film is based off a 2015 story from Jessica Pressler titled “Hustlers at Scores“, which appeared in New York magazine. The article was about former strip club employees whose scheme stole ten of thousands of dollars from their wealthy Wall Street clients. Seeing Wall Street get screwed over? Hell yeah we’re in.
The film will be written and directed by Lorene Scafaria (The Meddler) with production beginning on Friday in New York City. Sacfaria’s script, according to The Hollywood Reporter, “takes place in the late 2000s in New York City in the wake of the financial crisis and explores the toll it took on the livelihood of the dancers who relied on Wall Street clientele”.
Hustlers comes from STXFilms, whose chairman Adam Fogelson, said in a statement, “We could not have asked for a more exciting or talented lineup of performers to join our cast.”
STXFilms and Lopez will produce the film along with Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, Benny Medina, Adam McKay, Will Ferrell and Jessica Elbaum.
There’s currently no release date for Hustlers.
