Brooklyn Nine-Nine‘s triumphant save from cancellation was one of the heartwarming stories of 2018.
Fans are definitely enjoying the show’s return. From seeing Young Scully and Hitchcock to the Peralta/Santiago feels, we’re getting everything we want and more. Now we’re getting some Lin-Manuel Miranda in an upcoming episode.
Miranda was one of the most vocal celebs who protested when FOX cancelled Brooklyn Nine-Nine. It’s definitely awesome to see him on the show.
He’s playing Amy’s (Melissa Fumero) brother (and greatest rival), David, in the March 7th episode “The Golden Child”. Fumero and Miranda are friends IRL, so this is a pretty great way to see them on screen together. Plus, we’re certain Miranda geeked out when he got the offer.
Miranda has had on and off television gigs. His most recent being lending his voice to DuckTales and guest-starring on the season finale for Curb Your Enthusiasm. He’s fresh off reprising his role as Alexander Hamilton in a special three-week production of Hamilton in Puerto Rico in order to aid its recovery following Hurricane Maria. Brooklyn Nine-Nine airs Thursdays at 9/8c on NBC.
