Ryan Reynolds may have shot to A-list status thanks to Deadpool, but for fans of the actor, we know that he’s been in several excellent movies beforehand. If you love rom-coms, then you probably recognize him as that guy from The Proposal.

Hey, its a great movie to be recognized in. You got Reynolds and Sandra Bullock and a plot that comes from your favorite fanfic about green card marriages. Plus, there’s Betty White.

Who doesn’t love Betty White? Truly terrible people, that’s who.

Reynolds has decided to revisit those rom-com roots. He’s signed up for the project Shotgun Wedding from Pitch Perfect director Jason Moore. The film was based on a pitch from writer Mark Hammer (Skins) and will be written by Liz Meriwether (New Girl).

The rom-com with an action edge project is described as follows: “Shotgun Wedding tells the hilarious, adrenaline-fueled story of a couple whose extravagant destination wedding is taken over by criminals. In the process of saving their families, they rediscover why they wanted to get married in the first place.”

It does sound like a project Reynolds would like. He voiced his excitement over it.

“I haven’t done a romantic comedy since The Proposal but I just fell in love with Shotgun Wedding. It’s so refreshing and surprising. I can’t wait to bring it to life with Jason, Todd, Dave and the great team at Lionsgate.”

Currently, the project doesn’t have a release date.
