Wonder Woman 1984 is still off in the distant future of 2020 before we’ll see it on the big screen. Even so, fans are hoping that the Wonder Woman franchise will host a third movie with Patty Jenkins returning to direct.
While Jenkins is still hard at work making Wonder Woman 1984, it doesn’t mean she is without ideas for a hypothetical third film. Let’s be real though, if the upcoming sequel to 2017’s Wonder Woman is half as successful as the original film, then we’ll get a third one.
Talking with Vanity Fair about her upcoming series with Chris Pine, I Am The Night, Jenkins did talk a bit about her most well-known franchise.
“I have pretty clear plans for Wonder Woman 3. Whether I [direct] it or not, I see how her arc should end in my incarnation of Wonder Woman. I have great passion for that.”
Another film that Jenkins would love to make is described as a love story that is set in New York City. Hopefully, Jenkins will be allowed to bring her vision for the character to a natural conclusion. We really loved what she’s given us so far.
Though, it probably will come down to how successful Wonder Woman 1984 is at the box office.
Wonder Woman 1984 hits theatres on June 5th, 2020.
