Natasha Lyonne (Orange Is The New Black) just keeps dying in the trailer for Netflix’s Russian Doll. The problem is, she doesn’t know why it keeps happening.
Trapped in a loop where Nadia (Lyonne) heads to an insane party in New York held in her honor, the woman keeps dying in increasingly bizarre ways. It leads to her questioning her sanity and trying to figure out just what is happening to her.
The people around her are also questioning her sanity as well, trapped as she is in this grotesque Groundhog Day loop. (Though given how it is focused on death, maybe it’s more Happy Death Day? But Bill Murray’s character died a bunch in Groundhog Day, so take your pick for the comparison.)
It doesn’t look like she’s alone though as Nadia meets a young man in a plummeting elevator, who informs her that he “dies all the time” as well.

Russian Doll is executive produced by Amy Poehler. In addition to starring in the series, Lyonne also produces and co-writes it with Leslye Headland. Rounding out the cast is Greta Lee, Chloë Sevigny, Charlie Barnett, and Dascha Polanco.
Russian Doll will debut on Netflix on February 1st.
