Karen Gillan continues to be a bonafide action star with her latest project, Gunpowder Milkshake.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gillan is set to be the cornerstone of this assassin based action film. It comes from Aharon Keshales and Navot Papushado, the duo behind the dark Israeli breakout Big Bad Wolves, are set to direct. Keshales and Papushado also co-wrote the script with Ehud Lavski.
Not much is known about the project or Gillan’s role in it. We do know that it is going to be an all-female ensemble and will span “multiple generations”. It does have some inspiration from films like Kill Bill and Baby Driver. So if you like snappy and stylish action films, then it sounds like Gunpowder Milkshake may be the film for you.
Currently, there’s no release date for the film. What we do know is that it is supposed to start production after Gillan wraps production on the sequel to Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.
The production comes from Studiocanal and The Picture Company. Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman will produce the film for The Picture Company through their overall deal with Studiocanal.
The film will start production in Berlin sometime in spring 2019.
