Kara’s Identity Is On The Line In Supergirl Extended Trailer For “Suspicious Minds”

Kara (Melissa Benoist) may have helped save the multiverse during the “Elseworlds” crossover, but that doesn’t mean she’s getting any respect on her own Earth. Following the events of Supergirl‘s midseason finale, the government wants Kara’s civilian identity. With her refusal to give it, things are very tense.

Not to mention with Lockwood’s (Sam Witwer) arrest, public support seems to be on the side of the anti-alien terrorists. With Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) off world to prepare for the birth of his child and Alex’s (Chyler Leigh) hands tied by the situation, Kara is pretty alone right now.

In “Suspicious Minds”, the midseason premiere for the series, Colonel Haley (April Parker Jones) is intent on finding out Kara’s identity. Based on the extended trailer, it certainly looks like she did. Before it cuts to black, she declares “Kara Danvers’ life is over”.

Oh no. Look, we get finding out Oliver’s (Stephen Amell) on Arrow, but seriously? Haley finds it on the first try?

Meanwhile, Brainy (Jesse Rath) is ready to convince Nia (Nicole Maines) to embrace her inner hero. It certainly looks like he succeeds. We see the first glimpse of the long-awaited costume Nia’s superhero alter-ego, Dreamer.

Check out the trailer below.

Supergirl returns Sunday, January 20th at 8/7c on the CW.
