First Look At Jon Cryer As Lex Luthor On Supergirl Released

Earlier this year, it was announced that Supergirl was going to bring in Lex Luthor for its fourth season. The famed villain was gong to be a recurring character. Though the circumstances surrounding his appearance on the show were kept under wraps.

Awhile after that, it was announced that Jon Cryer (Two and a Half Men) would play the role. It was…it was a choice. Considering Cryer is about 30 years older than Katie McGrath, who plays Lex’s sister Lena Luthor. Still, Tyler Hoechlin is only a few years older than Melissa Benoist and looks about her age rather than being older than her. We’re confident the show will have some explanation, even if it’s just that prison ages a man or something.

We’ll take it.

The CW has officially released the first look of Cryer as Luthor. It looks like Lex as a) grown a prison beard and b) has that intense stare down.

We also learned the circumstances of Lex’s return into his sister’s life. Last time he was directly involved was in the season two premiere when he tried to have Lena killed.

Sibling relationships! Aren’t they fun?

According to Entertainment Weekly, Lex will return the show’s 15th episode titled “O Brother, Where Art Thou?”. The episode airs on March 17th. In it, Lex tries enlist Lena into helping with one of his plans. He “will stop at nothing to get her on board, even if that means leveraging the life of one of her friends.”

That sounds like Lex.

Supergirl airs Sundays at 8/7c on the CW.
