Wonder Woman is not hitting screens until 2020, but we have a lot of questions.
Like a lot of them.
Mainly about Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) and why he is even here to begin with. Last time we saw him, he blew himself and a plane full of highly toxic nerve agents up in order for Armistice Day to happen.
But, well, he’s in the 80s now. Set photos even show him with a fanny pack and everything.
So how is here?
Talking with Variety, Pine teased his role in Wonder Woman 1984.
He didn’t give much on it, though. He did promise something a bit new for Steve and Diana’s (Gal Gadot) dynamic in the sequel.
“This one is a little different for me tonally. The tables are turned, and I’m more of the deer in the headlights.”
And that’s all we got. There’s a lot to unpack here. From what it sounds like, hopefully, is that this is the Steve Trevor from the past. So the dynamic between he and Diana will be flipped versus the first movie. This time it will be Diana helping Steve adjust to a world that he has no real context for.
Maybe. It’s just a theory.
Wonder Woman 1984 hit theatres June 5th, 2020.
