Captain Marvel is only a couple months away from premiering. We honestly couldn’t be more excited for it. Like many Marvel films, we don’t really know the plot for the movie. Yes, there are Skrulls involved. Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) has turned into a Kree-hybrid and has forgotten her previous life on Earth. She also has a team-up with Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson) to stop the Skrulls, but that’s it.
On a set visit, Comicbook.com learned a little more about the plot of the film from producer Jonathan Schwartz.
Be warned, there are some spoilers ahead.
According to Schwartz, the film is an origin movie for the character. It also kind of spins the formula on its head as well. Danvers starts out as a member of a Kree elite special ops Starforce, fighting in the Kree-Skrull War. She has her powers. She knows how to use them.
Her past, however? It’s a different story. While she tries to stop the Skrull invasion of Earth with Nick Fury, she also tries to learn more about her history on Earth.
As Schwartz said to reporters, “You get a glimpse of her squad there, the Starforce, led by the Jude Law’s character. Very quickly along this journey they get dispatched on a mission to an alien planet to fight the Skrulls and over the course of that mission, Brie Larson’s character is captured by the Skrulls.”
Captain Marvel will be released on March 8th.
