Netflix may have been culling its Marvel shows, but it’s infinitely kinder to its other comic book properties. Following a successful Christmas (Solstice?) special, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has been renewed for more episodes.
When Netflix ordered the series, it was given two seasons, which the creative team has divided into “parts” and that’s what they’re referred to as. Now, it’s been announced that Netflix has given the go ahead for “parts” three and four. The reason it’s been divided into parts is due to parts one and two considered to make up one whole season. Presumably, parts three and four will follow the same format.
Showrunner and creator, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa released a statement following the news.
“Praise Satan! I’m so grateful to my partners at Warner Brothers, Netflix, Berlanti Television, and Archie Productions for supporting this darker vision of the world’s most famous teen witch. And I’m thrilled to be continuing to tell Sabrina’s chilling adventures with our incredible cast and crew, led by the unstoppable Kiernan Shipka.”
Part one ended with Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka) signing the Book Of The Beast to come into her full powers as a witch in order to save the town of Greendale from Madame Satan’s (Michelle Gomez) machinations. Her mortal friends have also learned her true heritage in the process.
By doing so, she’s right where Satan wants her, apparently.
The cast has recently wrapped filming for the second part of the series, which will be released on April 5th, 2019. Parts three and four will begin production sometime in 2019.
With the news, we’ve only got one things to say.
