Bye Bye 2018 – here we go, 2019! 2018 was good for many reasons but there is no reason to be sad because there are enough reasons to hope that 2019 will get even better.

We have waited for them and now it’s only a few months until Disney classics will come back to us in live action with The Lion King, Aladdin, and Dumbo all set to be released in 2019. The trailers for this movies are already out and if you grew up with this classics you can’t help yourself to be excited for them.

Disney isn’t the only studio giving the people what they want with Unbreakable getting its final movie after Split in 2016. We will face Glass in 2019 with James McAvoy, Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson reprising their roles.

Of course, 2019 is the year of the superhero with Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame and Spiderman: Homecoming all being releasedThere is something for the Star Wars fans as well with a new movie coming up and the horror fans as IT: Chapter II will hit theatres as well. And not to forget the kid’s movies, and when we say kids we mean kids of all ages. Such as Frozen 2, Toy Story 4 and How to Train Your Dragon 3. Not to forget, a big reboot. Men in Black International is coming up. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait for the movies of 2019.

The finale of Game of Thrones

Yes, on the one hand, it’s very sad that the series ends with this last season coming out in 2019. But we really want to know what happens in the end, right? Basically the question, who will be the winner of the Game of Thrones and who will be still alive when everything ends? And since it’s the last season, now basically every character could die. That’s frightening and brings a tension to the last season. And here is the good news in case you don’t like Game of Thrones, at least 2020 will be a year completely free of Game of Thrones.

Upcoming Broadway Shows

Get ready theatre people! On Broadway this year we have the revival of Paul Dano’s True West with Ethan Hawke. Just as interesting will be Tony and Olivier winner Dame Glenda Jackson playing the eponymous monarch in King Lear, which is also opening in 2019. But at all, it seems like 2019 will be another year of new musicals on the Great White Way. Moulin Rouge! The Musical is coming, the stage adaptation of the movie from 2001 and everyone who has seen the movie can tell you that it will probably be very sexy and full of glitter. Hadestown opens in March 2019, with music as good as the devil himself wrote it. Then, 20 years after the last Broadway production, Kiss Me, Kate will be back. And then we get something for the hearts of teenagers with Be More Chill, which was already described as the little brother of Dear Evan Hansen.

90s Music Icons Make A Comeback

O,f course I’m talking about the Spice Girls and the Backstreet Boys. Some fans already had a heart attack when these tours were announced. The Spice Girls are going on World Tour, while it’s “only” a European tour for the Backstreet Boys. Well, good for the Europeans but the Backstreet Boys had a Las Vegas residency for their show and they maybe will tour to the US again at some point. At least it is more likely than Victoria Beckham coming back to the Spice Girls. Sorry, Spice Girl fans. But that was the News of 2018, that at least the other members of the Spice Girls are getting back together for a tour. I’m sure these concerts of this legendary bands from the 90s will be great. 2019, we are ready for you!
