What We Do In The Shadows is an excellent 2014 vampire mockumentary from the director/writer team of Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement. The film has seen some big success in the past couple of years, solidifying a cult status amongst hardcore fans.
Needless to say, said fans were delighted by the news that the film would be adapted into a 2019 half-hour comedy series for FX Networks. Waititi and Clement serve as executive producers for the series, which follows three vampiric roommates and their pet human in New York City.
On Halloween, FX dropped several teasers for the upcoming series. They definitely have the tone that we all are looking for. The teasers are all focused on the vampires doing mundane things, such as waiting for a delivery and trying to buy groceries.
It also show how these old school vamps are struggling to adjust to the modern world.
What We Do In The Shadows stars Matt Berry as the old-fashioned Laszlo, Natasia Demetriou as Laszlo’s free-spirited partner, Nadja, and Kayvan Novak as house leader Nandor. Harvey Gullian also joins as the human who serves them.
Waititi and Clement may also reprise their roles as Viago and Vladislav at some point in the show.
What We Do In The Shadows will hit FX in Spring 2019.
