Falcon And The Winter Soldier To Get A Limited Series On Disney Streaming

Hey, remember all those fun jokes on the internet after Captain America: Civil War came out about how we’d love to see Falcon and the Winter Soldier team up together…preferably in a buddy cop show?

Well, looks like that may be becoming a reality.

Okay, maybe not the “buddy cop show” part – that’s just projection – but a limited series featuring Falcon and the Winter Solider is in the works for the Disney streaming service, according to Variety.

The series is the first of the many proposed for Disney’s streaming service to find a writer in Malcolm Spellman – previously a writer for Empire.

While there is really no other information about the series (Disney and Marvel haven’t given any statements) a limited series with Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and the Winter Soldier – Bucky Barnes – (Sebastian Stan) makes sense if they are looking to delve into the characters who haven’t gotten their own film.

Scarlet Witch and Loki are the other two characters reportedly getting their own limited series.

It is thought that these shows would have much higher budgets compared to other television shows because they will be produced as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (unlike the Netflix shows).

With Luke Cagand Iron Fist being cancelled on Netflix some have been wondering if Marvel is trying to bring the defenders over to the Disney streaming service as well but with the success of the third season of Daredevil and new seasons of Jessica Jones and Punisher still on the way it doesn’t seem very promising.

Seeing all the proposed series the Disney streaming service is going to come with is both exciting and annoying. Exciting for the obvious reasons and annoying because, well, more money to a streaming service. It better be worth it.

Though with Falcon and the Winter Soldier on board I really don’t see how that wouldn’t be worth it.

My only ask is that you make it a buddy cop show. Do it, Marvel. It’s what we all want.

You’ll, hopefully, see Falcon and the Winter Soldier in Avengers 4 – the movie it seems we will never get a title for – on May 3rd, 2019.
