Lilo and Stitch splashed onto screens in 2002. Since then, it defined a generation of movie-goers. I mean who today can’t finish the line “Ohana means family! And family means no one gets left behind…or forgotten.”
The story about an alien experiment who finds family and refuge with an outcast girl named Lilo is just too sweet and equal parts heartbreaking. Be honest, you cried when it looked like Nani and Lilo were going to be separated.
Even so, the film never quite made the reaches of your Disney Princess films or Pixar movies. Still, it remains a favorite amongst Disney fans.
It also appears to be the next Disney film in line for a live-action remake.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the House of Mouse is eyeing a live-action/CGI hybrid take on the film. Aladdin producers Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich are already attached to produce this project.
The script for the film will be penned by Mike Van Waes (The Crooked Man).
Currently, there’s no release date, director, or cast attached to the film yet.
