Chris Hemsworth Talks Marvel Future And “Brainwashes” His Kids By Showing Them Thor

Chris Hemsworth is best known for his role as the arrogant and powerful God of Thunder in the Thor franchise. However, his role as father took an interesting turn recently when he sat down his three children and had them watch the latest movie in the series, Thor: Ragnarok.

Family viewing

The Australian actor posted on his Instagram account a short clip of five-year-old India Rise and her twin brothers Sasha and Tristan huddled around an iPad in the living room. All three were watching their movie star dad’s latest flick. Hemsworth himself makes a brief appearance in the video when he gives a thumbs up to the camera. The actor joked that he was brainwashing his kids by giving them a taste of his latest outing as the superhero. In October last year, Hemsworth told Good Morning America that they were more interested in dressing up as Wonder Woman rather than Thor, for Halloween.

Still ‘strong’

Chris shared the video of his children with his wife, Elsa Pataky. They recently appeared in 12 Strong, the first time they’ve worked on a film together. The romance between Elsa and Chris blossomed in 2010 when they began dating before they went on to get married during the festive season. Their relationship has gone from strength to strength in their seven-year marriage, during which they welcomed their three children into the world.

Thor: Ragnarok was released to cinemas in November last year. Hemsworth recently told USA Today that he is contracted to play Thor in two more movies, and then his contract is up. His final outing will be in an as-yet-untitled Avengers movie, due to be released on May 3, 2019.

In the meantime

Thor fans (and Avengers fans, too, of course) will be sad to see the back of Hemsworth, who had become a favourite in the role. Let’s not forget, however, there’s plenty of action featuring Hemsworth as Thor. There’s other merchandise available, too, to entertain fans, while they await the next release. Everything from t-shirts to toys are available in the Marvel store. Video games, too, are always popular in the genre, such as Thor: God of Thunder and the more recent Ragnarok slot at the UK’s top online slots site Mr Smith Casino, which sees the user come face-to-face with a bevy of monsters, as well as receive a bonus just for playing. So there’s everything from DVDs to video slots for those avid Hemsworth fans. As far as movies go, we’ll almost certainly be seeing more Thor, albeit, sooner or later, portrayed by a different actor.

Could Hemsworth return after all?

After the box office success of Thor: Ragnarok, the actor has held talks with director Taika Waititi about the possibility of a fourth movie. Whether that pans out or not is ultimately down to Marvel Studios.

The Thor movies follow a superhero’s quest, based on the character from the Marvel comics. Hemsworth will reprise his role as Thor when Avengers: Infinity War is released to cinemas on May 4th.
