Michael Saves The Good Place Crew In The Opening Moments Of Season 3

I love Fall. For many reasons. Mainly because the season holds my birthday and offers an abundance of pumpkins. But, I also love Fall, because it means the return of my favorite TV shows.

For instance, NBC’s The Good Place will return for a one-hour special on September 27th. Exciting, right?

The comedy about a not so utopic life-after-death stars Kristen Bell, William Jackson Harper, Jameela Jamil, Manny Jacinto, and Ted Danson.

In the first season, after Eleanor (Bell) is welcomed into the heaven-like utopia, “The Good Place,” she realizes that she has been sent their by mistake. Aware of her not so “good” actions and behaviors on Earth, she attempts to hide her immoral self in the Good Place.

During season two, Eleanor, Chidi (Harper), Tahini (Jamil), and Jason (Jacinto) have discovered that the Good Place might not actually be so good. As they realize they’ve been tricked into thinking they have been in the Good Place all along, Eleanor sets out to uncover Michael’s (Danson) secret devices in creating their misery. Michael, the evil, meddlesome Good Place demon, slowly warms up to the humans. He eventually joins forces with the unlikely quartet, helping them escape their doom in the Bad Place.

When we were last left with the group in the season two, Judge Jen (Maya Rudolph) granted Eleanor, Chidi, Tahani, and Jason a second chance at the Good Place.

NBC released the first scene of season three’s first episode. We see Michael interfering in each character’s death scenes, intentionally preventing Eleanor, Chidi, Tahani, and Jason from dying in their impending tragic accidents. This is after he is granted access to Earth by the “doorman” (guest star Mike O’Malley).

Now that our quirky quartet has been returned to their lives, it is hard to tell what the third season has planned. Season two left us with many questions about Chidi and Eleanor’s relationship—especially after the quartet was separated, sent back to their respective lives.

Don’t forget to check out the season three premiere on Thursday, September 27th at 8/7c to see what happens next.
