It looks the untitled Birds of Prey film will need to finish casting soon because they got a release date. Surprisingly, it’s closer than any of us had thought.
While there is drama, restructuring, and no Superman over at Warner Brothers and DC Films, they do have Margot Robbie who is honestly killing it as Harley Quinn.
She’s also bringing the first female focused superhero team movie with this untitled project. Now that it has a release date, it means we will get casting announcements and on-set photos in the not-too-distant future. We honestly are too excited for this.
Maybe even an actual title.
The Cathy Yan directed movie will premiere on February 7th, 2020. Filming is set to begin at the beginning of 2019.
While Robbie is the only star attached, there has been a lot of interest in the roles. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Jurnee Smolett-Bell, and Janelle Monae are in the running to play Black Canary, while Margaret Qualley, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and Cristin Milioti are testing for Huntress.
Plus who knows who else will show up in the film?
