Watch out UK and Ireland, Lea Michele and Darren Criss are heading your way. That’s right, they are bringing their LM/DC Tour to the British Isles.
We knew something was in the works when the pair revealed shortly after their West Coast tour announcement last week that they “might have a lil something to share soon too” for the UK and Ireland. Fans were then directed to check out Criss’ Facebook page at 11am BST today for a special announcement. That announcement was what fans in Europe have been waiting for… the chance to check out this awesome show featuring two of their favourite performers.
The former Glee co-stars will be hitting up six cities across the British Isles: Dublin, Brighton, London, Glasgow, Manchester and finishing up in Manchester, starting from the end of November. See the pair reveal the news below.
Fans can expect a mix of Glee hits, Broadway standards, and highlights from their solo work… providing fans with everything that could possibly want from Michele and Criss. Given Criss also performed a song synonymous with the city/state they were performing in during the East Coast leg of the tour, I wouldn’t be surprised if this continued for the Ireland and UK shows too.
This is the first time the pair have performed outside London, and the first time they’ve performed together in the UK, since the Glee Live! In Concert! Tour the summer of 2011 and fans have been vocal in trying to get the pair back across the pond.
Speaking to the Press Association, Michele said, “This was so important to us from day one when we started to think about doing a tour together. We wanted to make sure that getting an overseas leg was on the books for us. We’ve been so lucky to have such incredible support from all our overseas fans, especially in the UK. When we first played in America, everyone who came from London and Ireland was asking: ‘When are you going to come to see us?’ So we worked really hard to make these shows possible and to get over there and just say thank you.”
This will be Criss first time performing in Scotland and he’s stated he’s looking forward to that, but he’s also excited to return to Brighton, a place he described as “one of my favourite towns”. And expect to see him out and about while in town: “You better believe that I’m going to be out every night. It’s a work vacation”. He added, “The UK has a proud history of places to drink that I’m sure I will be frequenting on a strictly touristic point of view! It’s for cultivating my British history. Drinking aside, there is so much rich history to see and things to do. If you’re going to go across the pond you may as well soak it all up.”
