The Arrowverse has found its Lois Lane and has brought the spouse of one of its stars into the fold. It’s definitely a major casting tizzy today.

Let’s handle Lois first. Announced as part of the December three-night crossover a couple weeks ago, fans have been speculating who will play the iconic reporter. It will be Grimm star, Elizabeth “Bitsie” Tulloch, as announced on Friday, September 14th.

The content of the crossover has been kept secret, so we don’t know how Lois will fit into it. Just that she and Tyler Hoechiln’s Superman will appear. Lane, however, has definitely been involved in the Arrowverse, though unseen until know. Her sister Lucy Lane (Jenna Dewan) and father General Sam Lane (Glenn Morshower) have appear in the show’s first season.

In addition to Grimm, where she played Juliette Silverton/Eve for six seasons, she also has credits for TyrantConcussion, and The Artist..

The other major news for the Arrowverse is that Cassandra Jean Amell, Arrow star Stephen Amell’s wife, has also joined as Nora Fries, wife of Doctor Victor Fries aka the Batman villain Mr. Freeze.

Given the fact that crossover will take place in Gotham and bring Batwoman (Ruby Rose) to live-action, it looks like, with this casting news, it will get tragic. Batman fans know that Nora Fries is the critically ill wife of Mr. Freeze, whose incurable disease sets him on the course to his villainous path.

It’s one of the most tragic stories in the Batman mythos, getting its start on Batman: The Animated Series. So perhaps Mr. Freeze will be the Big Bad for the crossover? Or one of them?

Amell originally made her television debut with America’s Next Top Model. She has also appeared on such shows like Hart of Dixie and Mad Men.

The Arrowverse crossover will air on Sunday, December 9th with The Flash at 8/7c, Monday, December 10th with Arrow at 8/7c, and concluding with Supergirl on Tuesday, December 11th at 8/7c on the CW.
