Captain Marvel Drops Its First Images And We Needed That Trailer Yesterday

Captain Marvel is the long-awaited solo female superhero film that fans of Marvel has long been waiting for. After months of the typical Marvel secrecy, we finally get our first proper look at Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) and the universe of her film.

Plus dang Marvel’s aging technology is super tight because Samuel L. Jackson looks totally younger.

Released by Entertainment Weekly, the 10 new images show amongst other things the first look at the Skrulls, Captain Mar-Vell (Jude Law), and Ben Mendelsohn’s bad guy Talos. Also, also there’s Starforce!

In the comics, Starforce is a fictional supervillain team that consists of Doctor Minerva, Ronan the Accuser, and Korath the Pursuer. In the film, Carol joins the team which also has the characters Att-Lass and Bron-Char with Law’s Mar-Vell serving as the commander.

Rather than going through a traditional origin story, the film starts with Danvers already having her powers. Instead of a supervillain team, Starforce is an elite military team of the Kree empire akin to SEAL Team Six, which Danvers has left the Earthly military to join.

On Mar-Vell’s and Danvers relationship in the film, Law said, “These extraordinary powers she has, he sees them as something of a blessing and something that she has to learn how to control. That’s a motif throughout the piece, the element of learning to control one’s emotions and to use your powers wisely.”

Check out the pictures below and get hyped for the film or the trailer. We really want to see that trailer.
