Fans of the Robert Downey Jr, Sherlock Holmes series rejoiced when it was announced that the long-awaited third movie was finally happening.
While we don’t know much about the project, which is slated for a Christmas 2020 release. Jude Law has teased a little bit of the story.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Law teased what’s to come in the film.
“We hope to propel the story forward. As always, the essence of the story is their codependency. We’re going to examine — since it’s been several years since we’ve seen them — we’re going to play up the fact that they haven’t seen each other for a long time either.”
The second film, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, was an adaptation of The Final Problem. It saw Holmes and Moriarty (Jared Harris) go over the Reichenbach Falls. Though it was confirmed that Holmes had survived their encounter.
So yes, it will be interesting to see Holmes reeneter the lives of Watson and his wife, Mary (Kelly Reilly) after years away.
Downey also teased the upcoming film on his Twitter. Though he was less forthcoming with the information.
