Hands up, who has ever wished for the Fab 5 to descend and make over their life? Yeah basically every one of us at least once every episode of Queer Eye. While none of us can expect to get that knock on the door any time soon, but the next best thing is about to become available to us, ensuring that the answer to all our questions is right at our fingertips.
That’s right, the Fab 5 – Antoni Porowski, Tan France, Karamo Brown, Bobby Berk and Jonathan Van Ness – are releasing their very own lifestyle book. QUEER EYE: Love Yourself, Love Your Life will be released later this year and is the book we have all been waiting for. Divided into five sections – as it well should be – each will be focused on a different area of the boys’ expertise. If there are no pictorial instructions for a French Tuck modeled by Tan, I will be sorely disappointed. And do we want to start a pool for guesses on how many of Porowski’s recipes contain avocado?
Described as a “behind-the-scenes exclusive, a practical guide to living and celebrating your best life, and a symbol of hope”, as to be expected, each section will contain heaps of handy advice from the expert just like on the show, with some additional tips and tricks from the rest of the boys. However, we will also get to have a look behind-the-scenes with exclusive photos from the show as well as the boys’ lives from their younger, more innocent days.
“This is a book that’s for the fans of the show,” resident culture expert Brown told PEOPLE. “If you love Queer Eye, you’re going to love this book.”
Design expert Berk added, “We’re giving our fans the alternate content that they asked for in a really cool way where they can sit and have a nice intimate moment with it at home.”
And there’s plenty more where that came from. The book also contains “hip tips” as well as “five minute make betters”, similar to what you see at the end of each Queer Eye ep. But for all the tips, the recommendations and the advice, what each of the boys is excited about is furthering their connection with their fans and sharing the experience with them. “I love that the audience who reads this book will get a greater insight into things that we did on the show but for me, it’s way more about them getting to know us more,” says the show’s fashion expert France. “I think the reason why this show has been so successful is they’re not just connecting with the heroes, they’re connecting with us five.”
“You get to hear a little bit more about our little relationships, the way that we are in between scenes, and you’ll get to see photos of that as well,” adds Brown. “I think sometimes throughout us giving help and showing people how to live their lives in a better way, they also just kind of want to know, ‘What are the five of us like?’ and they’ll get that information.”
QUEER EYE: Love Yourself, Love Your Life is out November 13, perfect little Christmas gift. It’s available now to pre-order.
