As summer is slowly coming to an end, more and more trailers are getting released for the movies we have been looking forward to ever since their release date has been announced to be this fall.

One of those movies is definitely Widows, an adaptation of the ITV series Widows written by Steve McQueen and Gillian Flynn.

One of the reasons why this movie his highly anticipated is definitely due to its impressive line-up, as it stars Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, Elizabeth Debicki and Cynthia Erivo in the main roles. The actresses are joined by Colin Farrell, Daniel Kaluuya, Jacki Weaver, Robert Duvall and Liam Neeson.

The cast alone is not the only reason why Widows promises to be a movie highlight of 2018.

The official synopsis for Widows definitely adds to it and confirms why we cannot wait for the movie to come out:

Widows is the story of four women with nothing in common except a debt left behind by their dead husbands’ criminal activities. Set in contemporary Chicago, amid a time of turmoil, tensions build when Veronica (Viola Davis), Alice (Elizabeth Debicki), Linda (Michelle Rodriguez) and Belle (Cynthia Erivo) take their fate into their own hands and conspire to forge a future on their own terms.”

20th Century Fox has released a new trailer for its upcoming movie and we are getting a glimpse at when and how the lives of these four women start to take a turn and how they are taking their fate into their own hands.

While the film has somewhat of an Ocean’s 8 kind of vibe. Widows looks a lot darker and even more gripping than Ocean’s 8 did.

Check out the thrilling trailer below and see for yourself why Widows is a definite must-see this year!

Widows will be released on November 6th in the UK and November 16th in the US.
