Did we not all rejoice when it was announced that Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman teamed up once more to bring us a new show? And even though their new show Making It is nothing like Parks and Recreation, it is still a fun show to watch, especially if you are a craftsman or craftswoman.
In my view, Making It also kind of brings us non-political versions of Leslie Knope and Ron Swanson and I’m absolutely here for it!
The crafting show is only a few episodes young and season one has not even finished yet, however, NBC has already announced that Making It will be getting a second season. Hooray!
Paul Telegdy, alternate and reality president of NBC, said about the show that “[s]eeing firsthand the imagination of a true craftsman and, literally, watching them create something out of nothing is pure gold. Amy and Nick’s longtime friendship and affection for one another brings the show to a whole other level of fun, and we look forward to seeing what Season 2 will bring.”
Meredith Ahr, president of Universal Television Alternative Studio adds to that, explaining: “We set out to make a boundlessly affirmative and inspiring show and we are thrilled with the way viewers and the press have embraced it. Amy and Nick bring creativity, leadership and comedic brilliance to everything they do and we can’t wait to team up with them again and shine a light on a new group of talented makers.”
Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman also expressed their excitement about the renewal of their show, saying, “we’re sew excited to be Making It again. We promise season two will have you glued to your seat.”
I honestly have no doubt that they are going to do exactly that, as season one is already amazing and makes one want to get creative right away to earn the patch of the week and be able to call oneself the “Master Crafter” at the end.
Making It airs Tuesdays at 10/9c. The season one finale is on September 4.
