Cher’s Dancing Queen Has A Release Date And A Track Release For The Fans

One of the greatest things to come out of Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again! was the special guest appearance by Cher. From our first view of her in the trailer, we knew that she belonged in this movie and the role was just perfect for her. While we have all fallen in love with her version of “Fernando” that appears in the film (and on the film’s soundtrack – let’s be honest, how many times have you listened to it now?), it was her news from last month that she was recording an ABBA coves album that had us ready to hit the dance floor again.

In a tweet late last month, Cher revealed the track list to her upcoming album informing fans that she was “ALMOST FINISHED WITH ALBUM”, though she didn’t indicate just when we could expect the album to drop. Well wait no more friends, we now have a release date and it’s probably much sooner than you expected.

Her new album, Dancing Queen, will be available on September 28.

In a press release about the album, the singer stated, “I’ve always liked Abba and saw the original Mamma Mia musical on Broadway three times. After filming Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, I was reminded again of what great and timeless songs they wrote and started thinking, ‘Why not do an album of their music?’

“The songs were harder to sing than I imagined but I’m so happy with how the music came out. I’m really excited for people to hear it. It’s a perfect time,” she added.

And we are excited to hear it. The album is already available for pre-order, and those that do are in for a special treat. They instantly receive her spin on “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)”. If you’re still undecided about this album (and really why are you?) check the track below. I dare you not to start boogieing.

In addition to the release date and the first track, Cher also revealed what that illusive 10th track on the album is – “One of Us”.
