Netflix Announces New Cast Members Of The Crown Series Three

For quite some time now, we have known who will take over from Claire Foy, Matt Smith, Vanessa Kirby and Matthew Goode respectively in series three and four of The Crown. Just a few days ago, Netflix even revealed the first pictures of the Queen (Olivia Colman), Princess Margaret (Helena Bonham Carter) and Lord Snowdon (Ben Daniels). And boy do they look amazing!!

As production is now a month in of series three, Netflix has announced who will be playing Prince Charles, Princess Anne and Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, who have been played by Billy Jenkins, Julian Baring, Lyla Barrett-Rye and Victoria Hamilton in series one and two.

The streaming platform took to the official Twitter page of The Crown once more to announce who is going to play the three royals in the upcoming series and their faces are quite familiar to TV lovers. All actors have already voiced their excitement about joining the popular show and the already announced cast and we are equally as excited about them joining the show as they are about it.

Newcomer Erin Doherty will play Princess Anne. She won’t be that new, however, when series three will be available to stream on Netflix, as the actress is set to appear in BBC’s Les Miserables as well.

Josh O’Connor will be playing Prince Charles in his teenage years in series three. O’Connor is mostly known for his role in God’s Own Country, as well as Florence Foster Jenkins. He will also appear in BBC’s Les Miserables.

Last but not least, Marion Bailey will take over from Victoria Hamilton and will play Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother in series three and four. The actress already has an impressive repertoire of shows and movies under her belt. We last saw her beside Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard in Allied.

Amazing actresses and actors have joined The Crown in series three so far and I cannot wait to finally see them in action. However, it will be a while until then, as production has just started in July and it seems likely that series three will not premiere next year at some point. Until then, we at 4YE will keep you updated on everything The Crown.
