After fleeing to Mother Russia in the series finale of FX’s The Americans, it looks Keri Russell will head to a galaxy far, far away.
According to Variety, Russell is in early talks to join Star Wars Episode IX. Should she officially join the cast, this will be a reunion of sorts for Russell and director/writer JJ Abrams, who worked together on Mission: Impossible III.
All that is known about Russell’s role is that it calls for action heavy fight scenes. Outside of that? Nothing else. (Some people are speculating she will play the mother to Daisy Ridley’s Rey.)
Abrams is looking to cast two more actors in unspecified roles before production on Episode IX begins at that the end of the month. In addition to Ridley, returning casting includes John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, and Adam Driver.
In addition to her work on The Americans and Mission: Impossible III, Russell is also known for her work on Felicity and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
Star Wars Episode IX hits theatres December 20th, 2019.
