Hey Squirrelfriends! We have some pretty stellar news from the House of Ru. We won’t be saying goodbye to Mama Ru anytime soon thanks to VH1.
It was announced this week that RuPaul’s Drag Race will be coming back for its eleventh season. The renewal of Drag Race shouldn’t come to a surprise to fans. Season 10 has been the show’s most watched season so far.
“After 10 sickening seasons, the Drag Race phenomenon is just getting started,” executive producer and host RuPaul Charles said in a statement. “I want to thank VH1 for providing this amazing platform for a whole new generation of super talented drag queens.”
Since it wouldn’t be Drag Race without its companion series, Untucked, it was also announced that the after-show as well was also renewed. The half-hour behind the scenes series has given viewers a lot of gag worthy clips and moments that it would have been a shame if it too didn’t come back but thankfully, for this upcoming season, that will not be the case.
Season 10 is still currently on air and down to the wire. There are four remaining queens left in the competition: Eureka, Aquaria, Asia O’Hara, and Kameron Michaels. Those queens are set to battle it out for the top three spots on this week’s episode as they have been tasked with writing and performing their own verses for RuPaul’s single “American.”
