DC Team Breaks The Silence On James Wan’s Aquaman

While the DC Films have been hit or miss, we can admit that some pretty amazing things have been going on with the casting side of things.

One casting that fans have been loving is Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry/Aquaman. While people have jokes about the character, he reminds us that King of the Seas is a pretty awesome title to have. Also, for real, Aquaman is just a badass dude, folks.

The film, which was directed by The Conjuring‘s James Wan, has been pretty well-shrouded in secrecy. Given how most of the DC Films have been received (sans Wonder Woman), it makes sense that Warner Brothers would want to put their best foot forward in this regard.

Now, however, the execs have broken their silence and have nothing but good things to say about the project.

WB film chief, Toby Emmerich said, “James has done an incredible job with his team. The film is taking you to a different place and imagining the underwater world in a way you haven’t seen before.”

Peter Safran, one of the films producers, said, “it’s got a lot of great humor, it works on so many levels … it’s a testament to James’ unique vision. I think it’s an extraordinary step in DC Universe that sets it on the right path.”

At this point, we can only hope that film will be amazing. (Though we won’t be upset with two hours of Jason Momoa wet and shirtless.)

Aquaman hits theatres on December 21st.
