This Is Us Has Already Filmed Pieces Of Its Final Scene

This Is Us is definitely not ending anytime soon. Why should it? It’s definitely the biggest drama on television. It’s also the wholesome content that we need to survive this dumpster fire of a time to live through.

That doesn’t mean that the creatives aren’t thinking about the ending. Sometimes people just know how things are going to end, see those words in Gilmore Girls.

In a special Emmy For Your Consideration panel in Los Angeles, series creator Dan Fogelman admitted that he does know how the show will end. He admitted that he and his writing team are pretty dedicated planners.

“We’re pretty far along. Our writers and I are kind of to the end. We have a path for each season of the show. We’ve always had a plan… I don’t think this show will ever — despite any success it may or may not have — will ever overstay its welcome, and we have a story to tell. And we want to do this the right way. And so we have a plan.”

Well having a plan actually makes us feel better. (Sometimes we don’t think TV shows really do that.)

He also added that, “I’ve actually already shot pieces of the final scene in the series.”

That doesn’t mean that the series is ending with season three. He didn’t mention how many seasons he envisioned for the series, but he did share that season three will be diving in Toby (Chris Sullivan) and Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) past.

“You’re going to be surprised what Toby and Beth were like before they entered this family.”

Well then! Talk about the teases for season three.
