Jennifer Love Hewitt Joins FOX’s 9-1-1 Following Connie Britton’s Exit

Fox’s 9-1-1 was definitely one of the best new shows to come out of the midseason. High octane action, personal stories, glorious set pieces, and wonderful character, it certainly had it all.

No one was really surprised when it quickly snatched up a season two renewal.

The sad thing is that one of the series stars, Connie Britton, only had a one year contract with the show. She left in the season finale, though there is the possibility of her returning as a guest star in the future. Nothing is entirely set in stone.

For real though, I need to see more of Britton’s Abby and Oliver Stark’s Evan “Buck” Buckley together. They were such a great couple.

This does mean that we’re down one 9-1-1 operator for season two.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Jennifer Love Hewitt will join the cast as Maddie Buckley, the sister of firefighter Buck. Maddie has made the career change to be a 9-1-1 operator.

This is the first time major role Hewitt has had on Fox since the family drama, Party of Five.

9-1-1 will return Mondays at 9pm EST on FOX this fall.
