Liane Moriarty is teasing what will likely become your next reading obsession. The Big Little Lies author is releasing her latest novel, Nine Perfect Strangers, this fall.
“Could ten days at a health resort really change you forever?” is the hook for Nine Perfect Strangers. If you’ve read any of Moriarty’s other books or seen the award-winning TV adaptation of Big Little Lies, then you probably know the answer to that question.
Check out the book cover, exclusively released by EW.
Moriarty has more than one best-selling novels. She is probably best known for the HBO’s take on the drama and everyday mysteries that swirl in an upper-class beach town full of parents sending their children off to elementary school for the first time. The first season of Big Little Lies, which was originally intended to be the only season, performed so well that HBO is continuing on with a second season. This time it will be brand new content not pulled from Moriarty’s novel. Meryl Streep also joins the cast, which already features several of Hollywood’s biggest female stars. Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern, and Nicole Kidman all starred in season one.
The author’s other best-selling novel, The Husband’s Secret, has been tapped by CBS Films to come to a big-screen adaptation starring Blake Lively. She will portray Cecilia Fitzpatrick, a busy wife and mother who discovers, you guessed it, her husband has a major secret, the murder-y kind of secret.
If the trend keeps up, then Nine Perfect Strangers may be coming to a network or theater near you in the next few years.
The book will be available on November 6, 2018.
