RuPaul’s Drag Race Recap: “The Last Ball On Earth” Brings The Out Of This World Drama

Hey gurl hey! Thanks to Emmy for covering for me last week, and I will covering the show for the next couple of weeks.  Week 4 is here, and I don’t know if it just me but I am struggling to find my favourite queens, but I can certainly tell you who I don’t like. Here’s hoping I might find the queens I want to root for soon.

Anyway here’s how it went down on “The Last Ball On Earth”.

For the mini challenge this week, the contestants were asked to photobomb some famous celebrity photos with their best quick drag looks. So many amazing options were given to Mama Ru but she decided that Aquaria was the winner of the mini challenge. Miz Cracker wheeled out her rectangle shaped hair piece, and hopefully, we won’t see this again this season.

The drama is definitely coming to the forefront with some animosity between Monet X Change and Asia O’Hara during the maxi challenge preparation. Miz Cracker is out to prove her slaying the runway is not an accident. Asia O’Hara has been dubbed “Blartha” because of her knowledge of sewing machines and she is not afraid to help the other girls with their sewing and design issues.  There is no doubt that asking the queens to create three looks has proved more challenging for some than others.

Mama Ru SLAYED!! her runway look this week, and it is unlike anything we have ever seen her do before.

With look number one (Alaskan Winter Realness) Kameron Michaels slayed it for me with Eureka running a close second. Miami Summer Realness was a much stronger category for me with Kameron Michaels killing it again, with Mayhem Miller and Eureka showing all the skills again. Martian Eleganza Extravangza had Mayhem Miller and Kameron Michaels leading the charge to Mars.

There are definitely some queens that are starting to just trade on pretty and need to show something different to their usual pretty girl looks to stay in the competition. We also have some queens who are starting to fade into the background and unless they are showing their teeth in the werkroom or on Untucked they are becoming rather forgettable.

Mayhem Miller, Eureka, The Vixen, Monique Heart, and Blair St Clair were all declared safe by Ru and the judges.

Monet X Change, Dusty Ray Bottoms, and Asia O’Hara were given harsh critiques by the judging panel. Asia helped the other queens at the expense of her own looks, but I loved that every queen up there acknowledged how much Asia helped them. Asia was lucky to survive this week and needs to up her game if she wants to stay in the competition.
