Ian Somerhalder is back to television and vampires. This time, however, he’s fighting against them.
Please insert whatever joke you have about this here.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Somerhalder has been cast in the Netflix’s adaptation V-Wars. The show will be adapted from the IDW property of the same name. Netflix has given the series a 10-episode order.
Somerhalder will star as Dr. Luther Swann. Swann “enters a world of horror when a mysterious disease transforms his best friend, Michael Fayne, into a murderous predator who feeds on other humans. As the disease spreads and more people are transformed, society fractures into opposing camps pitting normal people against the growing number of these vampires. Swann races against time to understand what’s happening, while Fayne rises to become the powerful underground leader of the vampires. ”
Well that all sounds horrifying. Although, vampire apocalypse is definitely a little less tired out than zombie apocalypse. Though, it does seem like that there will inevitably be some comparisons to The Strain.
Hopefully with less marketing of stuff happening to people’s eyeballs.
The V-Wars franchise is written by Jonathan Maberry. IDW Entertainment and Hyde Park Entertainment will produce the property. William Laurin and Glenn Davis (1-800-Missing) will serve as showrunners for the project while Brad Turner will direct and executive produce.
V-Wars currently doesn’t have a release date.
