The West Wing Cast Reunite For A Let America Vote PSA

One of the things I agree with here in Australia is that for us it’s compulsory to vote. We all have a say in who runs our country and whoever does end up running our country, certainly has a mandate, and given how much of our lives are affected by governmental decisions, it is so important to have your voice heard. One of the great things about living in a democracy. However, with compulsory voting, we don’t have the need for get out the vote campaigns, including the awesome PSAs that are released come election time.

With the upcoming US midterm elections set to be a gamechanger, our favourite President, President Bartlet was joined by some of his administration for the latest PSA. Produced by NowThis, the PSA on voting rights, which was released yesterday (March 22) by the organisation Let America Vote, reunites a number of the West Wing cast.

The 2-minute ad features our President, Martin Sheen along with Oscar-winner Allison Janney, Richard Schiff, Bradley Whitford, Dulé Hill, Mary McCormack, Janel Moloney, and Jimmy Smits. They stress that voting is not only the right of every American, but the responsibility. They call on every American to speak out against the voter suppression policies that could have a significant impact on the upcoming midterms. They call to let America vote and make everyone’s vote count.

And if their previous pleas won’t sway you, Janney’s call at the end just might: “I’m Allison f—ing Janney, and I won an Oscar, so let America vote!”
