Robert Downey Jr Announces Full Cast For The Voyage Of Doctor Dolittle

Robert Downey Jr is about to take a very strange voyage with a very star-studded cast.

Awhile back, the actor announced that he will be producing and starring in The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle. The film will be directed and written by Stephen Gaghan (Syriana). It will also be produced by Downey’s production company Team Downey.

With a release date for Christmas 2019, filming would have get underway relatively soon. It looks like it will be beginning shortly enough. How do we know this? Today, the cast list was announced.

Downey took to Twitter to share the news. Let’s be real, this is a star-studded list of people voicing the animals that the good doctor interacts with.

Selena Gomez (Hotel Transylvania): Betsy (giraffe)
Octavia Spencer (The Shape of Water): Dab-Dab (duck)
Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick): Plimpton (ostrich)
Ralph Fiennes (The LEGO Batman Movie): Barry (tiger)
Rami Malek (Mr. Robot): Chee-Chee (gorilla)
Craig Robinson (Ghosted): Fleming (mouse)
Carmen Ejogo (Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them): Regine (lioness)
Marion Cotillard (Macbeth): Tutu (fox)

Frances de la Tour (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire) will voice something called Ginko-Who-Soars.

Previously announced cast members include Michael Sheen and Antonio Banderas.
