Hollywood’s golden night has arrived, and boy was it a magical one! The 90th Academy Awards were held on Sunday night.
The Oscars are part of the biggest night in Hollywood. The parties are epic and not to mention, it’s quite the privilege to win one of those golden guys.
Jimmy Kimmel hosted the kudocast that featured musical performances from Mary J. Blige, Sufjan Stevens, Common, Audra Day, Gael Garcia Bernal, Miguel, and Keala Settle, with the latter bringing the house down with her rendition of “This Is Me” from The Greatest Showman. Kimmel’s return appearance as the host of the Academy Awards was met with some apprehension given last year’s Best Picture disaster, but luckily the comedian managed to stay away from any major controversies this year.
From West Coast, the winners for all 24 categories were announced. The Oscars this year underwent another drastic change from last year’s event as the Academy continued to keep up with diversity and put women at the front, something the Academy has spent the last year addressing and definitely made some changes and strides to become more diversified.
That being said, did the Academy give all the love to The Shape of Water? Did Gary Oldman finally take home his very long over due Oscar?
