Disney continues its trend of making live-action versions of its classic movies.
And this one? Oh it takes me back.
A live-action Lady and the Tramp remake will be tackled by the House of Mouse. The film will debut on its brand new streaming service. (Yes, another one that we will have to buy into.) It will be based on the 1955 animated film that features a prim housedog falling in love with a cheerful vagabond rogue after her humans become pregnant.
It was also the movie that I loved the most growing up. No fooling, I made my parents watch it with me all the time.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney has tapped Charlie Bean to direct the project. Bean previously directed the LEGO Ninjago Movie. He also worked on a ton of animated properties as well from Tiny Toon Adventures to Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends.
Andrew Bujalski (Support the Girls) will pen the project. Brigham Taylor (The Jungle Book) will produce the project with Jessica Virtue and Chaz Salembier overseeing for Disney.
The film is yet another offering that Disney is used to push their new streaming services. It was also recently announced that Jon Favreau will create a Star Wars TV show for the 2019 streaming platform.
Currently, there is no release date for the project.
