Michael B Jordan Burns Books In First Trailer In HBO’s Fahrenheit 451

At the risk of making a terrible pun, Michael B. Jordan is one of the hottest actors in Hollywood right now. After his earth-shaking performance in Black Panther, Jordan’s next project will get all of the attention.

Fittingly enough, his next projection is an HBO film of Ray Bradbury’s classic Fahrenheit 451. The 1953 book is set in a dystopian future where books and reading are outlawed. Fireman Guy Montag’s job is to incinerate what remains of said literature. Montag, however, begins to question all he believed to know is true. (Seriously, just go and read it.)

In the film, Jordan stars as Guy Montag with Michael Shannon (The Shape Of Water) as Montag’s mentor and captain. They are also joined by Sofia Boutella (Star Trek Beyond), Laura Harrier (Spider-Man: Homecoming), and YouTuber Lilly Singh. The adaptation is directed and written by Ramin Bahrani (99 Homes, Chop Shop).

The first trailer was released today. Boy is it tense.

I think we can all agree that Bahrani definitely nailed the dystopia aspect almost uncomfortably well. Also, apparently, images of Michael B. Jordan surrounded by fire are apparently a thing now.

The only thing that I really want to do, however, is protect my books.

Fahrenheit 451 will premiere on HBO sometime in May.
