You may remember Darryl, the Aussie bloke who is pretty unremarkable (sorry Darryl) apart from one small fact. He shared a house with none other than Thor, The God of Thunder.
Well it seems poor Darryl got left in the lurch when his roomie suddenly took off on some important business, but all was not lost. Darryl got a new job based in Los Angeles and needed a new rooomate in his new digs, so he advertised – and lucky for him, out of the one reply to his ad, this guy moved in!
The Team Darryl short films come from the brilliant mind of Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi, because directing one film wasn’t enough for the New Zealand over achiever.
We first met Darryl Jacobsen back in 2016, when Thor came to live with him, and explained where he had been during Civil War. You know the usual stuff; visiting Australia on a break, teaching small children, figuring out about the Infinity Stones.
Thor: Ragnarok releases on digital platforms on February 20th and on blu-ray March 6th. It is anticipated that sales will be quite good, the film itself was a monster hit for Marvel Studios, and has catapulted Taika Waititi from small time indie director to Dead Set Legendary status. Waititi is responsible for the cult classic What We Do In The Shadows, which is about to pilot as a TV show in the US.
We will see Thor again later this year in Avengers: Infinity War, which is actually a 2-part saga. Part one is due in cinemas on April 25th in Australia, April 27th in the UK and May 4th in the USA.
