Fans Aren’t The Only Ones Excited About Cap’s New Look

If you happened to miss our 2017 year in review post dedicated to the reveal of Captain America with a beard now is probably the right time to warn you that 2018 will also be considered the year of Cap’s beard.

In fact, the day Avengers: Infinity Wars is released will probably be named Cap’s Beard Day.

This is because when the first Infinity War trailer dropped the number one most talked about thing was easily the reveal of Captain America’s beard.

It was mentioned on Twitter 20,474 times, the next closest number was 6,100 for the Spidey sense.

People love the beard.

Chris Evans – grower of said beard – was a guest on the podcast Thirst Aid Kit and the topic of the beard came up where Evans was filled in on the popularity.

“That’s good, because I like it too,” Evans said. “I mean, I usually live my life with a beard. I’m not a huge fan of shaving, and it just provides a little bit of anonymity at times. I was really excited that the Russos and Marvel were willing to kinda give that look a shot.”

The beard not only looked fantastic but it also opened up a lot of speculation of where Cap is as a character in Infinity War – something Evans was feeding this weekend at Ace Comic Con in Arizona signing all his pictures with ‘Cap and ‘Nomad.’

Evans is really happy with the addition of the beard. He thinks it’s cool and “it kind of changes things up. We’ve seen Cap the same way so many times. He’s such a throwback, he’s such a classic. It kind of gives him a little bit of a modern vibe.”

We wholeheartedly agree.

Now if only we could get Cap with the beard in the stealth suit.

A girl can dream.

Avengers: Infinity War hits theatres on May 3, 2018.
