Australia’s biggest stars appear in the trailer for Dundee: The Son Of A Legend Returns Home, the biggest film to have never existed.
The internet has been abuzz the last few days with teaser trailers ramping up conversation about the “film”. In it, Danny McBride stars as Mick Dundee’s long-lost son returning to Australia to find his missing father missing in the Outback. This son of a legend is forced to channel his Aussie roots as he embarks on the ultimate adventure in the land down under.
Now we have a full ‘trailer’ for the film starring some of Australia’s biggest exports: Chris Hemsworth, Luke Hemsworth, Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Margot Robbie, Ruby Rose, Isla Fisher in a film that does what Aussies do best: take the p*** out of ourselves.
So while the internet continues to argue about the merits of this ‘film’, we can assure you that is in fact the lead up to a Super Bowl spot. It is an ad for you all to come and visit us down here in our beautiful corner of the world. We seem to produce a vast amount of talented people.
The world is very aware of the film, Crocodile Dundee which starred Paul Hogan and Linda Kozlowski that took the world by storm.
Dundee: The Son Of A Legend Returns Home (wow that’s a mouthful) is produced by Rimfire Productions, and is directed by Steve Rogers, an documentary maker.
While most Australians will tell you that this also needs some Nicole Kidman, Cate Blanchett, Bryan Brown and Judy Davis to really nail it. We’re pretty amused at the chatter going on about this film, even though it isn’t actually happening.
Crikey though, can you imagine if it was?
The biggest takeaway though; don’t believe everything that gets dished up to you.
