Anyone else starting to get tired of waiting for a Ms. Marvel property? What about seeing Squirrel Girl in action? Maybe a hint at Patriot outside of the comic pages?

Well, do I have good news for you.

No it’s sadly not the long awaited live action property. Instead, Marvel is announcing the new animated franchise called Marvel Rising, which is described as a “multiplatform initiative focusing on younger characters”.

These characters, of course, include fan favorites such as Ms. Marvel, Squirrel Girl, Spider-Gwen (renamed Ghost Spider here). The characters will be introduced in a webseries focusing on the newly named Ghost Spider (six four-minute shorts) before launching into an animated feature, Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors.

Not only is the roster of characters impressive, the voice cast is truly marvelous.

Gwen Stacy/Ghost Spider will be voiced by Dove Cameron (Descendants). Daisy Johnson aka Quake will be voiced by her live-action actor Chloe Bennet (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.). Dante Pertuz/Inferno will be voiced by Tyler Posey (Teen Wolf), Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel voiced by Kathreen Khavari (Marvel’s Avengers Assemble). Doreen Green/Squirrel Girl voiced by Milana Vayntrub (Marvel’s New Warriors). America Chavez voiced by Cierra Ramirez (The Fosters). Rayshaun Lucas/Patriot voiced by Kamil McFadden (K.C. Undercover).

The heroes certainly have an amazing roster of young talent.

That’s not the only talent we can expect. Ming-Na Wen (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) will voice the villainous Hala. Victor Kohl/Exile will be voiced by BooBoo Stewart (The Twilight Saga).

We can also expect Captain Marvel! Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel will be voiced by Kim Raver (24).
