We recently got our first look at to the highly anticipated sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. In addition to the cast expanding in the sequel, The Crimes of Grindelwald will certainly get darker and deeper into the past of the Wizarding World.
Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) finds himself in some interesting new places.
In an new exclusive Entertainment Weekly image, Newt stands in a sewer tunnel system. It certainly looks like he’s found something unpleasant down there.
Does it float? Who knows. What I do know is that Redmayne still looks good in that bowtie and coat.
In addition to the newest photo from the film, we also got to see a nice behind the scenes moment as well. In it, Redmayne and Jude Law, who plays young Dumbledore, share a nice moment together. We also get to see Law in a costume different from the one in the cast photo (seen above).
I have to admit the hat is something that Dumbledore would wear.
In addition to the new photos, director David Yates talked about the darker turn in the second film of the pentalogy.
“The first film had a level of whimsy; the characters felt like children in grown-up bodies. In this movie, it gets grittier and more nuanced and detailed. It’s quite a romantic film, it’s a thriller, it’s quite an interesting combination of genres you rarely see together. I think it will surprise people.”
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald comes out in November 2018.
