The Rock is about to get bestowed a major honor. And what can we say except that “you’re welcome”?
According to Variety, Dwayne Johnson will be awarded his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the motion pictures category for global box office appeal. Johnson will be given his star in a December 13th ceremony.
Good for him!
In a statement from Ana Martinez, producer of Walk of Fame ceremonies, she said: “Not only does Dwayne have a great personality and talent, but he also does a great amount of philanthropic work which is part of the criteria for earning an immortal spot on the Walk of Fame. We envision scores of photos being taken at his star by his fans.”
I mean she’s not wrong. The guy is universally beloved by audiences the world over.
Currently, he is booked for a number of film Skyscraper, Jungle Cruise, and that Black Adam movie in the works. His projects due for release are Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Rampage. In addition, there’s his television show Ballers and his successful YouTube channel.
God, I feel exhausted even looked at that list. But he definitely put in the time to earn his star, so good for him.
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle hits theatres December 20th.
